2. Information accuracy
We work to keep guides current, but eastern Indonesia logistics change frequently and without notice: ferry and Pelni schedules shift, flights are rescheduled or cancelled, operators change prices, and weather can close crossings entirely. All schedules, prices and availability described on this site are indicative and subject to change. Always confirm critical details — departure times, prices, visa rules, park fees — directly with the operator or authority before committing money or travel plans.
3. Prices and currency
Prices are quoted in Indonesian rupiah (IDR), with approximate conversions to other currencies for convenience only. Exchange rates move daily; the converted figures on this site are estimates, not quotes. The price you pay any operator is the rupiah price agreed at the time of booking.
4. Bookings and third parties
This site provides planning guidance and can connect you with transport and tour operators. Any booking you make is a contract between you and that operator, on that operator’s terms. We are not the carrier, accommodation provider or tour operator, and we are not a party to those contracts. Complaints about a service should be raised with the operator first; we are happy to help mediate where we can, but cannot guarantee outcomes.
5. Travel risk and personal responsibility
Travel in remote island regions involves inherent risks: sea crossings in open water, volcanic terrain (Gunung Api is an active volcano), diving and snorkelling hazards, limited medical facilities, and infrastructure that can fail. You are responsible for your own travel decisions, physical preparation, insurance cover and compliance with Indonesian law and local regulations. Nothing on this site replaces professional advice — medical, legal or otherwise — and nothing here is a guarantee of safety or suitability.
6. Travel insurance
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers remote-area evacuation and, if you dive, dive-specific cover. The nearest decompression chamber and advanced hospital facilities are a long way from the Banda Islands.
