Are homestays comfortable for international travellers?
Most are simple but clean: a private or shared room, fan cooling and home-cooked meals with the host family. It suits travellers who are fine with basic local-style accommodation, which is why divers and history travellers — who are out all day anyway — tend to pick it.
Can I mix homestay and hotel nights?
Yes, and many groups do. A common split is hotel-tier rooms for the first and last nights around Ambon transit, and homestay tier while based in Bandaneira town.
What is included, and what is extra?
Accommodation at the stated tier, the guided activities in your itinerary, and local transfers between them. International flights, the Ambon connection, dive certification courses and personal expenses are quoted separately, and the exact inclusion list comes with every quote.
When should I book?
Once your Ambon flight or crossing dates are set. Homestay and small hotel room counts are limited, and in the calm window (Oct–Apr) they go early.
