Sample packages, current price bands, and exactly what happens between your first message and a confirmed booking. Banda forgives a tight budget more readily than a tight timetable.
Figures indicative as of 2026.
Most Banda operators quote per person on a shared basis and price charters per boat, so a booking starts with your dates and group size rather than with a price list.

Ranges observed in 2026. They exclude flights to Ambon and the Ambon–Banda crossing, and they move with season, fuel and room availability.
How booking works
Step 1
Over WhatsApp. Include whether anyone in the party dives — it changes the boat day.
Step 2
Which of the three Ambon–Banda options is actually running your week, and whether your dates need moving.
Step 3
Day by day, itemised, with the inclusions and the exclusions both stated.
Step 4
Rooms, boats and guides are held. On a small island these are the scarce part, not the seats.
Step 5
Confirmed connections, accommodation details and a day-by-day schedule, before you fly.
One traveller put it plainly: the schedule advice mattered more than the price list — without it they would have missed the boat back to Ambon.
Oct–Apr is the calm window: smoother crossings, better visibility, and the hammerhead season on the outer walls. Jun–Aug is the southeast monsoon, when access is unreliable. The season register on the homepage gives the month-by-month read.
Ambon (AMQ) first, from Jakarta, Makassar or Surabaya. Then the Pelni ferry (8–10 h, multi-week rotation), a seasonal fast boat (5–6 h) or a charter flight (45–60 min). The flight distance from Ambon is about 90 km.
Small restaurants and warungs serve dishes such as ikan bakar and nasi goreng for roughly IDR 30,000–60,000, about USD 2–4. Nutmeg turns up in a surprising amount of it.
The Dutch cemetery, one of the oldest European burial grounds in Indonesia, the old governor's house, and the narrow streets of the colonial quarter. Gunung Api is a two to three-hour climb to a clear line of sight over Neira, Banda Besar and the open sea.
